Using an actual division between two Philippian women as an example, Paul displays how conflict, no matter what it is or who it’s with, is really a question of one’s trust in God. Only through seeing conflict as petty in light of God’s glory and presence, do we have the ability to rejoice in, and to find peace in, God. Paul goes on to show readers how the same type of conflict we face externally also plagues us our minds daily, and exhorts us to fill our mind with things that stir our affections toward Jesus, rather than give in to the internal battle.
