[eNews] Sabbath + Devotional, Women's Retreat, Leviticus .pdf's, + New Villages!

A Note from Ben:
Thanks be to God – January 22’s “Moving Day” went off without a hitch!
It seemed that our church family – and many new friends as well – were able to find parking (and coffee!), get kiddos dropped off, and experience the first day of The City Church’s third year easily, worshipfully, and well! We’ve mentioned a couple times, but many thanks are due – especially to a few people – who went above and beyond, and gave tons of extra time, skill, and effort toward getting into the new space.
If you noticed any issues on Sunday, logistical/practical or otherwise, please email a Pastor-Elder so we can get it resolved by Feb 5th’s Gathering.
And if you didn’t get a Leviticus Discussion Guide, you can download the .pdf here.
As a final note, especially if you’re a Covenant Member, please keep up the good work of the past two years, in greeting new folks, inviting people to join you for communion, helping guide them toward Villages (and our new “Find-A-Village” Center in the back of the room, coming Feb 5), and show great hospitality to the folks God brings us. We’ve done a great job during this earliest season of The City Church’s life – don’t let the new space enable you to slack on it!
Enjoy this weekend’s Sabbath, as you worship God by dwelling with and resting in him. Look below for our first-ever Sabbath Devotional, and see you when we gather on Feb 5.
Love you, grateful for you, and praying for you today,
Ben

Scattered Worship: SabbathPLUS Sabbath Devotional
[Sun, Jan 28 – all day | wherever God leads you]
In passages like Psalm 46, we see rest and worship. The two fit together well. God commands Sabbath; God models Sabbath. Sabbath is simply stopping, resting, celebrating, and enjoying God, while you fight idols like busyness, control, connectedness. As part of our last-Sunday-of-every-month “scattered worship,” The City Church pauses on January 28 to Sabbath.

Four New Villages Forming!PLUS Three New “Interest Areas”…
As the dust settle from our Sunday move, we’re excited to announce that three new Villages are forming, as God raises up folks to live on mission in new areas – core groups are currently forming for these four Villages:
- Fairmount II Core Group (meets Mondays, 7:00pm; Near Southside)
- Parker County Core Group (meets Wednesdays, 6:30pm; way out west!)
- Arlington Heights Core Group (meets Thursdays, 6:30pm; near our new gathering space)
- Meadowbrook Core Group (meeting day/time TBD; east Fort Worth)
We’ve also seen God start to bring folks into our Gatherings from a few new “pockets” of Tarrant County. If you live in/near one of these areas below, and are interested in knowing more about forming a “community on mission” there, email ben AT thecitychurch DOT net, as interest groups begin to form:
- Crowley/Burleson/South Fort Worth
- Arlington/East Fort Worth
- Mistletoe Heights (Near South area)

If you have questions about any of this, or anything else, email a Pastor-Elder: ben AT, matthew AT, or dennis AT thecitychurch DOT net. And let us know how we can serve you this week…
