[eNews] Moving Day Tomorrow: Getting There & Getting Around

After a month of prep, many hours of work, and much prayer and excitement, the time is here!Tomorrow, January 22, The City Church’s Gatherings move to a new time and location: 4449 Camp Bowie, at 10:30am

To help you get to the new place and get settled on time, we wanted to give you a few updates, and ask your help in making sure everything flows smoothly tomorrow.

1. Getting There

4449 Camp Bowie is relatively easy to find, but we wanted to help you the first time:

  • For those who are more visual, here’s a google map, with parking lots highlighted
  • If you’re simply putting the address in your smart phone, it’s 4449 Camp Bowie Blvd, 76107

Coming from I-30:

  • Exit Hulen
  • If coming from the west, turn north (left) on Hulen, then right on Camp Bowie – then look for our parking signs
  • If coming from the east, turn north (right) on Ashland, a quick left on El Campo, then right on Carleton – as you approach Camp Bowie, look for our parking signs

Coming from Downtown/West 7th St:

  • Simply stay on West 7th until it becomes Camp Bowie, then once you’re on the brick-paved part of the street, look for our parking signs – for general parking, you’ll make a U-turn at Carleton.

Coming from Riglea/West Camp Bowie/Etc:

  • Simply stay on Camp Bowie until you’re on the brick-paved part of the street – then you’ll see our parking signs.

A Note on Parking:

  • There is a parking lot adjacent to the building, on the west side. THIS LOT IS RESERVED FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING AND KIDCITY DROP-OFF – if neither of those apply to you, please use one of the two General Parking lots.
  • General Parking is located in one of two lots:> Lot A is on the south side of Camp Bowie, on the corner of Ashland – it’s just west of 4449 Camp Bowie, past a little white house> Lot B is on the north side of Camp Bowie, on the corner of Carleton

2. Getting Around

Once you’ve found parking, here’s what to do:

Entrances:

  • The main entrance is on Camp Bowie – you’ll see it as you walk from either General Parking lot. It brings you directly into our Gathering space, where info, coffee, and greeters await you
  • The KidCity entrance is on the west side of the building, facing the Handicapped/KidCity Drop-Off lot – it leads directly to the KidCity Check-In, and is just down the hall from our Gathering space
  • You’re welcome to use either entrance, but after our Gathering begins, the main doors will be closed, and you’re required to use the KidCity entrance

KidCity Check-In:

  • From the KidCity entrance, you can’t miss the KidCity Check-In
  • From the main entrance, signs will point you to the right, where you’ll find the KidCity Check-In down a short hall
  • All KidCity kids (birth – age 5 or so) check in at one location – then parents will take them to one of two separate rooms: Babies (age 0-2) and Preschool (age 3-5), where workers await with stories, songs, snacks and age-appropriate activities

Restrooms & Nursing Room:

  • One of the uniquenesses of an older building is that other than a handicapped restroom, Men’s & Women’s restrooms are downstairs: from the main entrance, follow the signs to the right, down into the basement:> The Women’s Room is at the bottom of the stairs> The Men’s Room is through a bit of a winding hallway – but follow the signs and you’ll get there!
  • The Handicapped Restroom is on the main level, through KidCity – ask at the KidCity Check-In desk and the team will help you find it
  • 4449 Camp Bowie has a dedicated Nursing Mothers room. It’s located in KidCity – ask at the Check-In desk and the team will help you find it

Other Info:

If you need help getting around, have other questions, etc. feel free to ask at the Info Table, just inside the main entrance in our Gathering space.

3. Getting the Word Out:

The last thing with which we need your help is letting friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family know of our new place and time. While Villages are the main entry point to The City Church, Sunday morning is a second “front door” – especially in the “churched” culture of Fort Worth!

So please take a moment and post a link to either this information, our general Moving Day page, or our new web address (thecitychurch.net) on your facebook, twitter, etc. We’ve created a few for you, so you just have to copy/paste:

  • My church family (@fwcitychurch) has a new gathering time and location tomorrow! 10:30am, 4449 Camp Bowie. Details: thecitychurch.net/movingday
  • The City Church (thecitychurch.net) moves to a new gathering space and time tomorrow – join us at 10:30, 4449 Camp Bowie!
  • IMPORTANT for getting in/getting around: info you need on @fwcitychurch’s new gathering time/location, starting tomorrow: http://bit.ly/zJEifq
