Middle School, High School, and College-Aged Students

Students in the Family of God
As a middle schooler, high schooler, or college-aged student, you are a vital part of The City Church family. We have a deep love for you, want to equip you to live out the gospel and BE the church, and hope to develop your emerging leadership in our community. Out of our love for you, and our desire to minister to you in the best ways possible, we won't give you a flashy, watered-down program, removed from the rest of the church family. We want to "raise the bar," as we equip you well for the real world.
The image that the Bible most commonly uses to describe the church is that of “family.” One of our gospel identities is that we are family. So in everything we do, we ask how we can look as much like an actual family as possible. Traditional families are not made up of one gender, one specific age group, or any one stage of life. Instead, there is more depth, growth, perspective, and balance as we do life in intergenerational gatherings with single and married folks; men and women; teenagers and grandparents, and everyone in between. So in The City Church’s Villages and other regular gatherings, we encourage people of all ages and life stages to do life together. In this way, we truly live as the family of God, and find unity in diversity occur as you interact with folks who are perhaps a little unlike yourself.
Student-Specific Opportunities
We have two specific ways to help you engage and plug in to The City Church family.
- First, as we send Villages across Fort Worth, many are within a few minutes of many middle and high schools across the area. And a couple are near TCU’s campus, with a hope to engage with Texas Weselyan and TCC campuses as well. Since The City Church’s Villages are primarily formed geographically, you can expect these Villages to be heavier in students. But following Titus 2:2-6, we do our best to ensure that there are “older men” in each Village to pour into and disciple young men, and “older women” to love and train young women. So our primary encouragement is to find a Village near you, to join us for All-Church Gatherings and Scattered Sundays, and to dive into doing life with others, in a community on mission.
- Second, in realizing that middle school, high school, and college-aged students are each in a unique, transitional point in your lives, we host gatherings, events, and or retreats specifically for "gradeschool students" and "college-aged students" a few times each semester.
